Email (electronic mail) is one of the most popular services currently used on the Internet and, historically, one of the first to be used on the Internet. It is used for exchanging messages or information between individuals.

 

It consists of two parts: the "header," which tells the computer who and how to send the message to, and the body of the message, which can contain any text. The main advantages are speed, as documents reach their destination in a few seconds, cost, simplicity, and so on.
